Conferma Payment process API complete
22/01/2010
The new enhanced Conferma Payment process is now available. The brand new functionality means that customers need not to have processed the booking through Conferma in order to use the payment API. The payment and reconciliation product which has been used in conjunction with Conferma’s Hotel Booker now allows customers to send requests to pay for other bookings.
Customers will be able to complete settlement using virtual credit card technology for rail, conferences and ad hoc payments with a full matching, reconciliation and data provision suite.
“This allows a customer to send a request to pay for, say, a conference booking,” says Steven Read, Conferma’s chief operating officer.
“The customer can pay for different elements of the conference at different times.” The system is built to have multi-card (on Barclaycard at present, American Express shortly) and multi-currency capability.
“This allows our customers to take advantage of card-based credit terms and enables their corporate customers to assume the credit relationship with the card company,” added Read.

New Conferma booking site to be available Q2
Version 4 of the Conferma booking site is now in development and is scheduled for release in the second quarter of this year.
According to Conferma COO Steven Read, “The new site will have a completely new look and be much easier for our customers to use. It will decrease the amount of time needed to make a booking.” The new site will make more use of intelligent pre-population. For example, it will be able automatically to show preferred hotels in a location or the most recent trips booked.
Conferma v4 will extend full functionality to multi-person bookings and allow these to be amended. It also has a multi-language capability and the capacity for additional information fields validation.
Booking policy control can be set at client level with a graphical admin interface.
