Women’s History Month – Employee Spotlight, Celyse George

Conferma Location: Manchester, UK

What is your professional background?

I started my career working for a large online catalogue company answering the phones. I worked my way from customer service through to quality assurance, and up to the knowledge team where I authored content for our guides, websites, and customer portal. After a bit of a deviation through invoicing administration and project administration, I’m back to authoring.

I also have levels 2 & 3 in counselling skills and hope to complete my qualification at some time in the future.

Why did you choose to work at Conferma?

I chose to join Conferma as I was looking for a challenging role in an exciting environment. The energy surrounding Conferma’s future is infectious and has cemented that I made the right choice in joining this growing company.

How does Conferma develop your skills, and have you learned any new skills during your time here so far?

I’m still quite new to Conferma and technical writing is totally new to me. I’m learning to decipher product information from the developers and translate it into user friendly content for our release notes and user guides. I’m looking forward to seeing what else I can learn from my colleagues here.

What do you hope to achieve at Conferma in the future?

I want to improve my skills as a writer, gain a better understanding of the fin-tech industry and help Conferma achieve their goals.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy cooking and baking when I’ve got the time to do it properly. I love travelling (I’ve been to 25+ countries so far) and finding new places to explore with my dog, husband, and friends.

What do you love most about Women’s History Month?

Some of the greatest innovators and inventors are women and historically wouldn’t get a mention. I think it’s a great opportunity for the spotlight to shine on all the contributions women make towards our society and workforces. It also serves as a reminder of where we can do better in providing equality for all.
