Conferma has completed the latest phase of its global Ditch the Fax programme, successfully transitioning 27 markets in the Americas* from fax-based virtual card delivery to secure digital alternatives.
The latest shutdown marks another important milestone in Conferma’s move to modernise virtual card communication. By migrating more hotels away from an embedded legacy process, Conferma is helping hotels, TMCs, and corporates reduce manual handling, minimise errors, and enable a more consistent and resilient payment process.
The shutdown includes countries and territories across the Caribbean, Central America, and Canada. Importantly, it doesn’t include the US, which is scheduled for shutdown in the programme’s final phase later this year.
Hotels in the affected markets will now receive virtual card information through secure digital delivery methods instead, whether that’s:
- Encrypted email
- Third-party digital vaults
- API-based delivery through Conferma Connect Direct
The move is part of Conferma’s ongoing strategy to replace legacy payment delivery methods with secure digital alternatives. By reducing reliance on fax, Conferma is minimising manual intervention and supporting more reliable delivery of virtual card information across the travel ecosystem.
Hotels that haven’t updated their communication preferences should register their property at www.confermaconnect.comto ensure virtual card details continue to be delivered without interruption.
*Countries/regions included in the latest shutdown:
Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Sint Maarten, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands and U.S. Virgin Islands.
